The StoneFort Inn is a first class boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Chattanooga. The name dates back to old Stone Fort present on the site during the Civil War, and the brick and limestone structure itself was built as a hotel in 1909 during Chattanooga's Dynamo of Dixie boom. StoneFort Inn was originaly situated on a site that was once part of Fort James, a large stone fort that provided security to Chattanoogans and was of strategic importance to the military during the Civil War.  After the war between the states, German immigrant L.A. Hirtzfield was commissioned to design the 16 bed hotel which is now a cross between a bed and breakfast and a boutique urban inn. Current owner Mark Oldham purchased the Stone Fort Inn in 2011 and began renovations throughout 2012. Today the Inn features polished terrazzo floors, marble fireplaces, elegant décor and rustic touches that evokes both Chattanooga's history and modern urban renaissance.

TerraMae Appalachian Bistro

In late 2012 TerraMae Appalachian Bistro opened at StoneFort Inn. One of Chattanooga's most popular restaurants, it features regional cuisine with a contemporary twist. Chef Shelley's menu features ingredients grown on our very own TerraMae Farm and the menu is supplemented by the local farmer's market and nearby purveyors such as the Eagles Rest Ranch, where the restaurant gets its bison. TerraMae serves dinner (Mon - Sat) and Sunday Brunch. Sunday Brunches are a Chattanooga favorite, and have become very popular with the locals with unique dishes like Spiced Apple and Pear Buttermilk Pancakes with Country Ham.
